bro thats INSANE, i genuinely wanted to use this exact piece for my original submission but I just felt I couldn't get the right idea so i changed directions. genuinely makes me so happy to see it still get used. i really wanted to see wormcastle in AIM n here it is. youve got it on fleek bro, absolutely correct with the lo fi vibes. keeping it as the essentials with synths, bass n drums suits the band too. cheers!!

LuckyDee responds:

Damn, what are the odds... Would have loved to hear your take on this piece, and thanks for the love bro <3

feel like you express yourself well, n did the piece justice as well. I dig it a lot!! what did you do for the drums? cymbals almost give me the sense of someone playing e-kit n using its sounds. whatever you did is cool. hang in there bro, and keep it up

Yoshiii343 responds:

thanks!
i use spitfire's LABS for the drums. not the most natural sounding stuff, but it works

dude!! hella nice work! feels pretty damn natural for 7/4. you have a super nice soundscape goin on I'd say. also the drums?? seems like you had a ton of fun with it cuz it's fun to listen to

flooko's art seems to be inspiring to a lot of us!! i was considering this piece myself for my shot at AIM but I really dig your interpretation. good stuff!!

HELLA late to this one but I just wanna say that it's been a song in my regular NG listening for a few weeks now. you've just hit a sweet spot with charm and repetition without it feeling like it gets old. also who doesn't love when the songwriter plays multiple instruments! I like the spoken tangent sets the bittersweet feel well too. just sick work overall

sick collab!! pleasant surprise considering I follow both of you already

usually I'm not very good at keeping up with the audio portal, so during monthly voting I'll at least put the time in to give listens to the songs you can vote for, n this one just got me. hella dig the vibes, the progression is kinda nostalgic in a way but i feel like you struck a good balance of having some complexities without compromising a simple pleasant listen. easily in my top 5 for the month bro!!!

only thing im curious is if you have a ride doing straight eighths at 1:58 while you got the crash breakdown happening? completely possible for a drummer but would be an interesting groove

VirtuaLIkimono responds:

I'm glad you liked my song!!!

At the moment you're talking about, I was inspired by some unknown Japanese alternative rock track.

unfortunately, unlike guitars, I don't have real drums, so I can't say if it's possible to play something like this in reality. I used the drums from the plugin, so meow

absolutely fantastic. my favorite aspect of the song kept shifting the more you introduced instruments and melodies. your structure for how you utilize percussion is nice, and I love what the bass is doing throughout. need I say that the keyboard was super nice too, just love it overall dude

almost reminds me of the band dealership and some of their calmer songs mixed with their electronic sounds they go for sometimes. usually vocals are what pulls me away from this kind of music but it works here, its nice. i dig it a lot

BestGuess responds:

ty that means a lot!! i gotta check out dealership idk them

dude?? feel like I hear some sorta marimba sound font in there
whatever it is this is great work
