been seeing a lot of people make posts about the new year and their plans, and 2 weeks later my brilliant mind thought to make one myself
not a complex or deep post but it doesn't hurt to talk about what I'd like to get done within the year, n some small news!!
to start off, I guess some basic resolutions:
RESOLUTION A
one of the most, obvious, make more OC art and be a part of more collabs, emphasis on the original art though! the mental goal is to share more art of my own stuff, without putting a requirement on myself that it needs to be progressively higher and higher quality with each post. i doodle my own fools a lot and dont share much dawg!!! feel like im mostly followed for fanart, which is totally fine in my eyes, since i always love drawing other peoples stuff, but itd be cool to put more time into my own characters and ideas and make it more recognizable.
REVOLUTION 2
dabble in animation!! i barely touched it in 2024. hopefully i can experiment with some different approaches n find a style that i find suiting. i always have the urge to animate things like my character rose, but always shut down quickly since I progress incredibly slowly with figuring things out, such as animating fire. ive got a few ideas that I might be able to try out, so we'll see. i just want to do sum more experimenting than I did last year
RAISIN LOTION D
put out some MUSIC. BRO.
I always dabble with making music but I rarely complete songs, because as everyone knows its way easier to keep making new projects to mess with compared to staying dedicated to something you dont know how to build onto. I have SO many interests with music, and would like to share a lot more of my interest in percussion and electronic sounds. even if I just share one or two songs within this year, I'd be happy. gotta tap into the potential!!
RESPIRATOR 4
this kinda ties into putting out music, but the resolution is to be smart with savings n get some gear for music projects!! i'd like to eventually record myself playing percussion for the sake of personal projects n ideas, like playing percussion ensemble arrangements or pieces i make. biggest expense im interested in saving up for is a pearl malletstation, because college has me moving around quite a bit, n it'd be super helpful for having access to melodic percussion without spending a bajillion dollars on a real marimba or vibraphone that I cant even move around (though id love if that were possible, dont get me wrong). wish me luck!!
not gonna put too much on myself expectation wise, because my schedule has been pretty filled as a music major and i feel like my brain is gonna explode from all the stuff i gotta learn n practice sometimes, but it's just goals ive had in mind for my creative works.
in other random music related news though, my glock n vibes duet i made won second place in a percussion composition contest the college was having! im supposed to perform it in april at a concert, but what's applicable here is that I'll also be getting the opportunity to have someone record it, so I might be able to get a live recording of the piece to share here!!! fingers crossed man, i better practice my ass off n make that sound phenemonal. here's the piece if you'd like to hear the musescore playback, not super flattering but it works for what it is. lullaby ahh piece
think that's all I have to say for now. thanks to all of the support I get from.. literally everyone. im incredibly fortunate for the friends and family I have, and im very grateful for it, as well as for the kind words when i share my stuff here! thanks for reading, if you did read allat, i like to use a lotta words bro
